SAN LORENZO, CA, April 23, 2022 —  Earth Day celebrates our natural environment and illustrates the many small and large ways we can all pitch in to protect it.

Sorting waste properly – organics, recycling, trash – protects our environment. Flushing only the 3Ps – pee, poop, and toilet paper – is also an easy way to keep our San Francisco Bay clean, and help protect  our environment. At Oro Loma Sanitary District, we’ve created this fun sorting and recycling quiz to help you learn how to be a super sorter every day.sorting waste properly

According to EarthDayorg, Earth Day 2022 is focused on accelerating solutions to combat our greatest threat, climate change, and to activate everyone – governments, citizens, and business to do their part. This is a major thrust in California as SB 1383 takes effect this year. With SB 1383, everyone in the State of California will be required to sort waste properly.
Residents, businesses, schools, and government agencies will need to subscribe to recycling and organics services and keep recyclables and compostables from the trash (landfill). You can learn more about SB 1383 here.
