San Lorenzo, Calif. — Fred Simon, a Registered Professional Civil Engineer, was elected to the Oro Loma Board of Directors in the November 2018 general election. Mr. Simon has Bachelor’s degree from UC Davis and a Master’s Degree from Stanford University. This is Mr. Simon’s first time in political office, and he will serve a four-year term.

A long-time resident of the Heron Bay Community in San Leandro, Mr. Simon has been active in community and civic organizations for many years, including affiliations with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. He also served on the San Leandro Senior Commission, Heron Bay Homeowners Association, and has been a member of the Cherryland Community Association.

In the professional arena, Mr. Simon has over 20 years of experience in the water industry, having worked for Contra Costa Water District and East Bay Municipal Utility District. He has experience in planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of pipelines, pump stations, and steel and concrete water tanks.

Mr. Simon was officially seated on the Board during a swearing-in ceremony at the December 18, 2018 Board meeting. He was welcomed by his fellow Board members and immediately assumed his new responsibilities.
