Wet Weather Equalization Expansion Project

The District is considering the development of the Wet Weather Equalization Expansion Project. The project scope includes the expansion of the existing storage basin from 8 to 24 million gallons. The Project would allow the treatment facility to reduce nutrients year round, as well as improve solids capture during peak wet weather periods. Staff partnered with ESA and Associates to evaluate CEQA compliance for the project. After analysis by CEQA experts, biologists, and a careful study of the planned project, ESA recommended that the District issue an amendment to the 2013 Mitigated Negative Declaration adopted for the original 8 million gallon storage basin.

On February 5, 2019, the Board unanimously voted to authorize staff to circulate the addendum to the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration with the State Clearinghouse and Post Notice of Availability with the Alameda County Clerk for the Oro Loma Wet Weather Expansion Project, Project No. 40-213-10.
